The last few days are upon us (if you are in SDFF #1, for SDFF #2, your turn is coming sooner than you think) soon we’ll touching down in either La Paz or San Jose del Cabo. Believe me THAT is not the time to realize you’ve forgotten your flies, sunglasses or prescription meds. Here is what I call my FINAL list – it is the one I print out and check off as I load up the night before lift off.
Palapas Ventana Final Checklist
Passport
U.S. cash for splitting 4 days of boat tips/tipping shuttle driver (I bring $200 total in small bills)
Mexican fishing license (or have PV buy one for you in the bar)
Boarding Pass (if on smartphone take photo and put into your photo file)
CBX pass (I have mine included with Volaris ticket)
FMM if you printed from home IF NOT you will print one at CBX.
Phone charging cable
Immodium
Ibuprofen
Prescription meds
Toothbrush/Tooth Paste
Sunscreen
Sunglasses and sunglass cleaning cloth (you will get blasted with saltwater on the boat)
Clothes (long sleeve sun shirts, pants, shorts, swimsuits)
Hat
Shoes/flip flops
Rods/Reels/Flies
Leader (20lb, 30lb fluorocarbon or mono leader material)
Nippers/Plies to cut line
Backpack for day on boat (be advised: it may get soaked with saltwater and/or fish blood)
Headlamp
Optional:
Plastic water bottle to fill up with ice water on the boat.
Electrolyte powder – or purchase electrolyte drinks at bar and ask to load on your boat.
Collapsible soft cooler (if you decide to bring frozen fish home – PV also sells hard side coolers)
